Bonnaroo 2009,,,,,some pics and a list of bands I rocked with.....

Knowing from my teenage years, when you go to an outdoor show, always wear sandals that can be flipped off, so I can rub my feet in the soft warm grass...........AND, carry a waterproof shoulder bag, to put cameras and bottled water..................

My first show at the 'Roo was Janelle Mona'e at The Other Tent.....

'Roo has a safety tower and a ferris wheel...................All of Bonnaroo's attractions are enclosed in a secured area called Centeroo............All bags are checked and patrons frisked, patted down........No biggy.........Made me feel better.............

White Rabbits were playing here at This Tent....Oh yeah,,,all the venues have names associated with Tents and Stages.......

Right after this show, I headed back to camp early for the day.....STORMS.........Made it back to camp just in time for a severe storm to hit the area...........Last big storm of the weekend!!!!

moe. doing an acoustic show at the Sonic Stage on Friday afternoon............Thanks for turning me onto this band Greg..........I missed their electric show the next night............Too dang late at night for me..........I was wore out after Buffett,Wilco and Bruce..........moe. played from 2 am till 8 am...............I could hear them from the campground as the sun was rising..............I was thinking,,,"Dang, someones still cranking"...............It was moe............................

This pic is from Carb day INDY 500 practice and INDY LIGHTS 100 race........I sat on the front stretch.............

Thats right Jerry, an American made Chevrolet Silverado............Did not even know this T@B was behind me coming across those Kentucky hills...............I had just set up the camp and needed some pics...............I camped again at the north Coca Cola Lot...........Again, it was packed and hopping..............Like I like it...........

Beautiful blue skies with partial clouds..............This was my first trip out with our new canopy/awning..............I had no problems putting up camp alone..........

I have a small generator that is locked to the T@Bs front frame................

I made new friends with the rv pictured behind me here..............BIG cookers!!!!!!!! Also made a referance to a kitchen boy here............"HEY!!!!! KITCHEN BOY"!!!!!!!!

My truck did not move for three days

Galley faced south, awning due east............Kicking back under this awning was great..........

First day road..............Will eventually turn dusty................NO rain this year..........Equals no muddy roads.......YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!

My neighbors due east rented this porta potty for the weekend.............They kept a lock on it........Nice people.......Colts season ticket holders................rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...........They travel to Tennessee to watch Colts @ Titans regularly............

Not quite ready though.............This week we head off to Indianapolis to witness the greatest spectacle in sports...................The Indianapolis 500....................Of course I have an American made Chevrolet Silverado to do my towing now. ........I sold my 2003 Saturn Vue ( also American made) to my son, at a sweet deal.............Plan on taking some cameras, and getting some very nice pictures to share.............We will be at the north side Coca Cola parking lot (LOT 1-C) .............Stop on by...............Oh yeah,,,,,,,,,,Jerry, KISS MY A**!!!!!!!

These two pics were from a camera phone upload, so they not that good......... The top ones are from a Canon digital camera..........After dumping the equipment onto the asphalt I commenced to put the new canopy up with no instructions..............None what so ever.............I did not tether the canopy down, but I stretched it out a little........It took a few minutes to figure it out, but here it is..............I purchased this through Scenic Roads Rv in Manchester Tennessee...............

David Crockett State Park.....February 2009

We got the the campsite at David Crockett State Park around four o'clock and settled in on a nice spot near the bathrooms.................The restrooms/showers were very clean and heated.............This is our rear view into the woods..............

With electrical and water hookups we were playing our radio in minutes..............We don't have use for the water hookups, just for washing dishes if any...........We are unhooked here and ready to head to town for supplies.............We forgot the ice.................doi.........

Nice fireplace............We do not bring firewood with us..............And wood at campsite was wet............

We spent the evening watching vhs movies in the trailer and enjoying each others company.............This was my wifes first camping trip in the M2, and she seemed to enjoy it....................We headed out mid morning back home, after sweet rolls, oatmeal and coffee...............

Bonnaroo 2009 artists have been announced today......................The music festival is in Manchester Tennessee on June 11-14.............A four day music festival filled with some of our favorite artist...............I had a friend who went to last years festival, and he went on and on about what a good time he and his wife had...................So this year, we are loading up the T@B and heading east.......................Tickets go on sale this week, on Saturday...........This will be our first time at a large music festival and am looking forward to rockin' in my shorts and flip flops for days and nights on end........................Here is the scheduled line up as of today......................

Snowy Owl..........

A couple of weeks ago the area of Spring Hill became a hotbed for birders........All there to witness and photograph a rare site..........A snowy owl............Snowy owls usually winter much north of here............The last snowy owl was seen in the state over 20 years ago............This owl is staying on the ground in this plowed field on General Motors property along highway 31, just south of Spring Hill.............The owl has created quite a stir.................At times there are up to a hundred people with cameras and telescopes leaning against the property fence looking on in amazement at the size and beauty of this owl............With the amount of vermin he is eating on a daily basis, he will wanna stay or return with others..............The picture above I took.....The owl is on the right, with a plastic bag in the center............Below are pictures that a local took..........He braved the elements and walked up within twenty foot of the owl to get these pictures...........This owl is on private property and warnings have been made for trespassing by the local police and on site security.................

Campin' Out Back................

Yesterday I got out and opened the clamshell to air it out, do a lil' sittin, and a lot of thinking............I was very disappointed to see I have a leak in the rear galley and there was water down below my sink, and the cabinet top above was wet and expanded............right around the sink.............I put a small fan in there to help dry the area after I wiped all standing water..............I am gonna go to the T@B group files on Yahoo to get some help..........Maybe use the bulletin board if that fails............bummer..........We will be getting ready real soon for our annual trip to the Indianapolis 500, this being the second year to use the T@B............What a blast that was last year to be comfortable inside the T@B......I had a hard time sleeping the first night, the rest of the week, I slept like a baby.........Earplugs!!!!!!!!! Yes earplugs saved me and my son also.........Gotta get into right state of mind her..............

HOLIDAY EATING TIPS

1. Avoid carrot sticks. Anyone who puts carrots on a holiday buffet table knows nothing of the Christmas spirit. In fact, if you see carrots, leave immediately. Go next door, where they're serving rum balls.

2. Drink as much eggnog as you can. And quickly. It's rare. You cannot find it any other time of year but now. So drink up! Who cares that it has 10,000 calories in every sip? It's not as if you're going to turn into an eggnog-alcoholic or something. It's a treat. Enjoy it.
Have one for me. Have two. It's later than you think. It's Christmas!

3. If something comes with gravy, use it. That's the whole point of gravy. Gravy does not stand alone. Pour it on. Make a volcano out of your mashed potatoes. Fill it with gravy. Eat the volcano. Repeat.

4. As for mashed potatoes, always ask if they're made with skim milk or whole milk. If it's skim, pass. Why bother? It's like buying a sports car with an automatic transmission.

5. Do not have a snack before going to a party in an effort to control your eating. The whole point of going to a Christmas party is to eat other people's food for free. Lots of it. Hello?

6. Under no circumstances should you exercise between now and New Year's. You can do that in January when you have nothing else to do.
This is the time for long naps, which you'll need after circling the buffet table while carrying a 10-pound plate of food and that vat of eggnog.

7. If you come across something really good at a buffet table, like frosted Christmas cookies in the shape and size of Santa, position yourself near them and don't budge. Have as many as you can before becoming the center of attention. They're like a beautiful pair of shoes. If you leave them behind, you're never going to see them again.

8. Same for pies. Apple, Pumpkin, Mincemeat. Have a slice of each. Or if you don't like mincemeat, have two apples and one pumpkin. Always have three. When else do you get to have more than one dessert? LaborDay?

9. Did someone mention fruitcake? Granted, it's loaded with the mandatory celebratory calories, but avoid it at all cost. I mean, have some standards.

10. One final tip: If you don't feel terrible when you leave the party or get up from the table, you haven't been paying attention. Re-read tips; start over, but hurry, January is just around the corner. Remember this motto to live by:

"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!"

`Twas the night before Christmas and TABbers this year
were excitedly waiting for holiday cheer.
Knowing that Santa this year, on this day
Was planning to try out his brand new Tab Sleigh.

He was older and slower and ready to try
An easier ride for his fly through the sky
Something cushy and comfy and easy to tow
That allowed him some ease of arthritic wow.

And maybe a place for a drink to inspire
A nap and a rest, and maybe a fire,
To warm up his body deep down to his bones
a break between housetops, and chimney and homes!

It was not all that big, not too tall or too wide
For Santa to snuggle and rest when inside
And if he got lonely and wanted a friend
It had enough room for Mrs. Clause within!

The sleigh flew through the night with ease and so quick
Santa had much more time to enjoy his trip.
Across the nation he stopped in to see
Those Tabbers and friends that traveled like he!

And all did agree the new sleigh was the coolest,
more modest, so simple, and oh just the cutest!
While everyone watched it was up and away
Merry Christmas to Santa and his great new Tab Sleigh!

To continue the story for this year:

Remember last year when Santa decided
to try a TAB sleigh and was oh so delighted?
He'd bought a brand new one all the whistles and bells,
and it worked out just perfect, for him and his elves.

In fact, Santa was so delighted with it,
he modified his TAB and had it re-fit
and transformed it from a flying TAB sleigh,
back to a camper for traveling and play.

To help plan his mods he got in the loop
And joined a TAB forum – a great YAHOO group.
He read all the posts and began to compile
a to-do list after a search of the files.

He read all the postings and words of great wisdom,
and learned ins and outs of the electrical system.
He even ventured to post his own question,
answered by many an expert and craftsmen!

The first thing he did was get rid of the table,
A couple of slats, and the bed was real stable.
And the space that this saved was a great boon
For such a big man needs lots of room.

And as for the water, he needed a lot,
not just 5 gallons, and he needed it hot.
City water hook-up was installed by his elves,
hot-water-on- demand, he did by himself.

And more on the YAHOO group site he did read
about screen doors, converters and lights –– L-E-D!
And all of these mods, he completed each one,
till his TAB was customized and ready for fun.

Come spring it was ready for his first camping trip,
he longed to meet TABbers – for fun and kinship.
He returned to the group site and looked for a rally,
one that was close would be right down his alley.

Of course, from the North Pole nothing is close,
but he looked and decided on a rally – West Coast.
And dressed incognito, his person disguised,
he attended the rally ---- unrecognized!

It all was the way that he'd heard it would be,
the camping with TABbers and the comradery.
It felt like a family, one he'd known all along,
he'd only just met them, but knew he belonged.

So went the summer, one trip then the next,
From West coast to East, he camped with the rest.
Not once did he let anyone know who he was
Camper by summer, come Christmas Santa Clause!

At the end of the season, he returned to the Pole
ready for his annual around-the-world goal.
As he transformed his Tab back into a sleigh
He knew he'd see TABers, on another day.

Now, think back you TABbers – did you ever attend
a rally and meet a round, jolly old friend?
A guy who about where he lived never told?
It could have been Santa – his time off from the Pole.

Got to the Coca Cola lot, Nside so early, the roads were still grass...............

After getting set up, we lost the canopy to high winds................After re rigging, we were relaxed..
Cooked some sausages and fresh Indiana corn on the cob........

The son stayed in his tent..............He loved that.................

I do not know why I brought an extra cot,,,,,,,,,never used it..................

This weekend the son and I are heading out with M2 to the Indianapolis 500 race..............Gonna be camping out at the Coca Cola lot 1-C off of turn four.......
He will be staying in a tent we are bringing along, sleeping on a cot, and I will be alone in the M2.............Temps are supposed to be beautiful for a trip........Highs in lower 70's and lows in the 50's at night............AAAAhhhhhhhhh..........
When we get back there will be plenty of pics posted here of our adventure.........
